Summary

Prayer Times does not collect, store on a server, sell or share your personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no third-party tracking.

Information the app uses

• Location. When you choose to detect your location (during first-time setup, with "Use my location", or with the optional automatic location update in Settings), the app reads your phone's location (precise or approximate, as allowed by the permission you grant) to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. The coordinates are saved only on your phone in the app's private settings and are never sent to us or to anyone else. You can instead choose a city or enter coordinates manually, and you can turn automatic updates off at any time.
• Settings you choose (calculation method, city, notification, adhan and silence options, notification sound, language, theme, widget style, Hijri correction) are stored only on your phone.
• Prayer tracker and history. The prayers you mark as done, and the history shown in the app and widgets, are stored only on your phone.
• A custom adhan file you choose is copied into the app's private storage on your phone and is never uploaded. The notification and alarm sounds you pick from your phone's sound list are saved only as a reference on your phone.

Internet use

The app has no servers of its own. The Internet permission is used only when you paste or share a Google Maps link to set your location: the app may open that link to read the place's coordinates, which sends a request to Google Maps (Google's privacy policy applies to that request). Nothing else is sent. Finding your location uses your phone's own location services, which are managed by Android and your phone's settings, not by this app.

Home-screen widgets

Widgets show prayer times, the Hijri date and your tracker using data stored on your phone. Widget appearance settings stay on your phone.

Permissions and why

• Notifications – to show prayer-time notifications.
• Alarms (exact alarms), wake lock, run at boot – to deliver prayer alerts on time, restore them after a restart, and light the screen briefly while the adhan plays.
• Foreground service (media playback) – to play the adhan and the Fajr alarm. While the adhan plays, the app listens for the volume buttons so that any press can silence it; it does not record audio or read other key presses.
• Full-screen alert – to show the Fajr alarm screen and the slide-to-silence screen over the lock screen.
• Location (precise or approximate) – only when you choose to detect your location or turn on automatic location update.
• Internet – only for the Google Maps link feature described above.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.

Data deletion

Because no data leaves your phone, there is nothing for us to delete. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes all settings, tracker history and saved location.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this page with a new effective date.
